August 2015 Funding for an All Terrain Vehicle for SAVEM has been approved. Note below an excerpt from the letter by Acting Emergency Services Minister Ian Hunter. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the volunteers at the South Australian Veterinary Emergency Management Inc. for your outstanding contribution during and after the Sampson Flat fire. Your efforts brought great comfort to the community, particularly those concerned about the wildlife, pets and stock."
August 2015 Rachel Westcott is a Finalist in News Corp's Pride of Australia Medal in the Environment category. Winners are announced 23 September, and there is a People's Choice award which is open to public voting.
June 2015 Rachel was part of a photo shoot related to The Advertiser Sunday Mail Messenger Pride of Australia Awards 2015.

July 2014 SAVEM was awarded a Grant from SGIC's Community Grants Program to produce an Interagency Fireground Safety training video. SAVEM is working to provide a training tool for use by SAVEM volunteers to assist with animal welfare management during emergencies. This training tool will enable approximately 250 SAVEM volunteer veterinarians, vet nurses and wildlife carers to benefit from improved knowledge and awareness.
